A collection of short stories from the Systems Collective universe.
Sedgeford Brooks is a world weary Reclamationist. Filling his empty life with a constant case-load, he bears the trauma of losing Grace, his friend and secret love, who disappeared a decade previously.
When an investigative subroutine reveals that she has finally been found, locked-in on the planet Baikon alongside her abductor, Brookes leaps at the chance to rescue her and redeem himself.
There he meets Vossen, a local detective who seems familiar, but whose intentions appear less than clear.

Collective citizen Josmar is fascinated by pureskins and a strong advocate for their protection. When Daria, a pureskin from the Sanctuary, connects with him over the UniNet, they hit it off, their lively discussions of pureskin rights filling his otherwise disappointing life.
Suspecting that Daria might belong to the advocacy group HumanKind, he begins to worry that their contact has attracted the attention of InfiniSec intelligence when he notices the same, sinister man in both Infiniti encounters and in real life. Shortly afterward, events come to a head when Daria urgently requests they meet for the first time.
